WOOLSTON WAR MEMORIAL.
A public meeting was held in tlio Oddfellows' Hall, 'Woolston. last night to decide uyuon the sits of the proposed Soldiers Memorial Pavilion. . . The Mayor (Mr G. S. White),, who presided, said he had received two- petitions with regard to two different sites m tfio Woolston, Domain. , ' Mr C. Hill, the ex-Mayor, said he was chairman of a committee of delegates from various sports bodies, who hod deemed tbet the'southora site was the best. Ho rend a letter from the Minister of Internal Affaire, who advocated the Bouth site, as the pavilion would then face Fery road, and the ground would be sound enough to ereotra brick building on, which was not the oaao with the northern side. A ballot'was than taken on the four sites put forward, north, south, east, and west, and it resulted in the south sdo being chosen by a large majority.
