At an athletic meeting at Auburn, A- W. Winter, in a standing /high Jump, cleared 4ft 9£in, an Australasian recora'. FOUR WORLD'S RECORDS BROKEN. (By Cable—Press Association—Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) (Received April 24th, 11.30 p.m.) NEW YORK, April 23. At Redlands, California, Charles Paddock, in the Southern California Amateur Athletic Union meet, broke four world's records, and tied with the existing rectod for lOOyde, in 9 3-ssec.
He ran 100 metres jn 10 3-oaec, lowering the record by l-ssec; 200 metres in 21 l-ssoc, lowering the record by l-ssec; 300 yards in 30 l-ssec; and 300 metres in 33 l-sseo. Th© last-mentioned beat B. J. Wefer'e record, which had been standing for twenty years, by nearly 3sec. Robert Weaver, president of the Athletic TJnion, had charge of the meet, and was starter, hence the records are likely to be accepted as official.
