N.Z. ROAD CHAMPIONSHIP. . 'The 70-miie road cycling championship of Xew Zealand, lira' first big;-road race since the discontinuance of the ammnl'Timaru to Christclrarch- event, will be .held to-day, under tlio auspices of tlKPXorth Canterbury Centre of tlie Xew Zealami Athletic and Cycling Union. Good entries have been received, and the progress of P. O'Shea, the Australasian road champion, will be-watched with interesf. If the race has been well handicapped, O'Shea, should not be expected to -van, but, barring tyro and othor troubles, he should easily put up fastest time..
