INVBRCARGILL MUNICIPAL LIKICS. Tho Inveroargill Town -Council on Wednesday night agreed to in?reas» tho scale of feas for playing on the municipal golf links, and also to advertaE© for a coach. In moving the adoption of the clause', Councillor A. H.. Msokrcll said' that tho links' were just on the evo of paying their way. They had been taken in band by the Rean'rea, Comluittse- only during l the past two years, and since had niado rapid strides. Last year there had been a deficit of £BO odd, but this had iralwkd £22. for renovating and -painting "the golf bouse —a, charge that would not bs recurring. iFu-rthe* there had been many subscribers who had secure! tickets at tli© cheap rates before tho rise, and they would liave to pay lidgher this year, thus increasing t.bo revenue. The links were certainly iricreaam<r in popularity. The membership' of the Invcrcargiil Golf Club, which did nos [include aJI using the links, was 64 in J 020, aud tliis year there were 112. The committee- was satisfied that tho revenue- 'Would be sufficient to pay the coach and maintain the locks; in fact, psrsonailly, lia expected to see a small credit bu-la-nce. Tho cla!i6e was adopted unanimously. It was decried to give publicity to tho existence of, the links by medium of placards in tnamcars'and hotels. . . ' .-
