Is that correct?' He was informed that it was quite correct. Mr Walker replied that he thought it was quite wrong. Professor Benham: It was done last year. Mr Walker said that the position last year was different. Anzac Day # had now been declared a statutory holiday, and the Government had acceded to the returned soldiers' request to have it set apart, not as a holiay, but as a holy tiny. The University should set nn example in this matter. Professor Bonham said that when the matter was discussed by the Professorial Board none of them seemed aware of the Act to which Mr Walker had referred. They followed the procedure of; last year in observing Anzac Day as a half-dnv. and having morning classes. Mr_ Walker said the nrofessors were very likely unaware of the filtered position, and it was decided to ask the Chancellor to write to the chairman of tlie Professorial Board, pointing out the new djvj;mstances.
