EEDUOTION IN WAGES.

Welsh tinplato workers' wages have been reduced 40 per cent, following a fall in the price of steel bars, upon which the workers' wages depend tinder a sliding scale. '' (Received April 19th, 7.40 p.m.) LONDON, April 19. Mr Lewis Jones, secretary of the douth Wales Siemens Steel Association; states that in three months of this year- 27,000 tons of Bteel bars-were imported into Great Britain. Labour accounted for 95 per cent, of the cost of the finished Welsh steel, and 90 per cent, in the case of spelter. Tin-: platers' wages in South Wales had been reduced 40 • per cent, under the sliding scale based on prices.
