WAIMAKARIRI HARBOUR BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the Waimakariri Harbour Board was held yesterday. PreZZ\ M«mts K. Evans (chairman), W. KH Talbot, W. H. Hale. D. K. aSchfeor!; D. Hawke T. K. Uithead, L. B. Evans, sad F. B. Lane. Correspondence was received from Mr H. F Toogood, advising tHat he had not yet received the plan of the river The Board's oohcitors wrote giving the procedure necessary to correct the special roll of occupiers of ,land in the harbour district, and forwarded' form of advertisement with reference to objections. It was decided' to advertise in accordance with the solicitor's letter'. A letter was' received from ithe Bank of Kew Zealand, notifying that, from May Ist, a charge of. not less than i per cent, would be maae on payment of interest coupons through the bank. Mr i\ J. Hedjes's application to cut basket willows was agreed to. In order to comply with the Harbours Act in the election of chairman, it was decided that the next meeting oi the Board should be held-on May 10th. It was decided to instruct the Board's solicitor to prosecute launch owners plying for hire without licenses. The receipts since lasi meeting were £43 6s. The cr. bank balance was reported to be £B3 19s 9d.
