EAST DORSET BY-ELECTION.

At the by-election at Bast Dorset, Captain the Hon. F. E. Guest was reelected unopposed.
The by-election was rendered necessary by the appointment of Captain Guest as Secretary of State for Air Service. At the General Election the voting at East Dorset was:— Capt. Hon. F. E. Guest (Co-Lib.) ... ... 11,944 A. Smith (Labour) ... 4,321 THE "BACKBONE OF THE COUNTBY."
LONDON, April 17. Lord Derby, addressing the Junior Imperial League, said Conservatism was the backbone of the country. They were always ready to take in new recruits, new blood, and new ideas.
