SPORTING.
The plough was the only track in use at Ifcccarton yesterday, reverse work was tne order of the morning. Clean Sweep, who is coughing, was galloped with Bonny Doon and Kilderg. and was badly beaten by both. He can be looked upon as a very doubtful starter at Timaru.
Hylans and Heytem were schooled over the hurdles, but did not shape very well.
Golden Prince and Endure set out for a round over the country, but at the first fence of the double Golden Prince overjumped and gave J. T. Humphries an ugly fall, with a result that he fractured his collarbone. He was taken to the Public Hospital. Afterwards Golden Prince and Endure were schooled over a circuit of the country.

TBOTTJNO NOTES. Acceptances for the Forbury Park T.O.'s Winter Meeting close on Rriday. _ After competing at HawJcee Bay. Wfliterawui -will probably be sent South, and go into A. Hendriksen's stable. Hai Junior is still showing eigne of unsoundness, and it is doubtful if the Bawke a Shy-owned pacer will stand another preparation. . . , Nancy Stair and Irvair are ogam in worlc at New Brighton, and are freely engaged at the coming meeting. At the recent Manawaitu T.O.e Annual Meeting an unusual occurrence took place. Golden Echo was engaged in the Trial Handicap, and arrived in the hird-cage fifteen minutes before the advertised startling time of the race, and was about to go out on the track when he was detained by the stewards, and his owner was informed that his horse had been scratched for late arrival, consequently Golden Echo did not start, and had to return to the paddock. Owing to the poor support accorded the Hawera Trotting dub for its TaranaJq Futurity Stakes, the club has decided to delete the classio race from its programmes in the future. The Auckland sportsman, Mx G-. Faton, has Nita Bell and All Bell engaged at the New Brighton T.O.'s "Winter Meeting, and provided both horses come South, their presence in the races should add interest to the fixture.
