(Received April 17tli, 5.5 p.m.) The crisis is causing much opmment in view of the extreme view Mx Hughes takes of the Country I&rty'p action in tahmg the business out of the hands pf the Government, notwithstanding repeated assurances that this, waa quite unintentional, as evidenced by the! party subsequently voting in a body for Mr Hughes's motion. The general view is that Mr Hughes will find a way not only to remain in office and attend the Imperial Conference, but to exploit the incident and strengthen his position so far as the Country Party is' conha* returned to Melbourne in view of possible developments, mubdbr and suicide.

The latter says his father came into the room, locked the door, and said he was going to kill them all so that they could go' to Heaven and join their dead mother. Tpe father first cut the elder boy s throat, then cut the younger's arm and neck, and afterwards his own throat. The survivor crawled to $ neighbour's and. reported the tragedy, [A settler named Rrocklehurst, near Kalamunda, attacked Bis two young sons with-a rasor, badly gashing their throats, and then fatally cut himself •with a razor.
