L NEW YOilK, Apnl 10. | It is estimated that seventy-five persons were killed and millions of dollars' jvorth oi damage done to property, by a tornado which swept the Mississippi Valley, Texas, Arkansas, lowa, and Colorado. Transportation and communication aro paralysed, and snow and rain ale hampering" rescue work. Later reports show that twelve pfeople were killecT in Texas, sixty in Kansas, ond tHirty-seven killed 'and fifty injured iu one county of Arkansas alone. Communications are still blocked,' hut news filtering tnrough froni the stricken regions «hows that many hundreds were injured in other places by falling buildings. The wind reached a velocity of seventy miles per hour. Vegetation along wide strips was completely destroyed. Sautli-Wpstern Arkansas suffered m<»t. ' Thp wind lifted laden railway cars bodily from the line at Nashville. Two cars crashed into and crushed a* passenger train, but the passengers miraculously escaped. .
