"All the immigrants who have ariived up to the present have Been placed in employment," said tho Minister of Internal Affairs (tho Hon. W. Nosworthy) this morning. There had been a statement made that immigrants were not met. when they got to New Zealand, he added. That ivas not bo. Same time ago, it was true, there had not boen adequate arrangements for receiving new-comers, but now organisation carried on by the Salvation Army under Government auspices 'had resulted in everyone being met on arrival tho Dominion and passed on to some employment. As far as he had been ablo to gather, said the Minister, tho plan had been thoroughly satisfactory, oven ■when it was remembered that latterly the immigrants had had to conio into tho Dominion during a period of stringency. In spite of tho the Immigration Department had been'able to cope with the position.
