Councillor Taverncr (chairman of the Finance Committeo of tho City Council) gavo some interesting- information at tho City Council meeting • -while speaking on the financial'aspect of tho future. He pointed out that according to the report of the Finance Committee, which had been adopted, there was the- sum of £414,000 tailing duo next year, which had to be provided for. in addition to that instructiops had just 'been Ten t' l6 Town Clerk to take steps to raise a loan of £350,000 for development and extension work in connexion with the Waipori. electric undertaking.
