Clarke, who presided, said the total of the fund was now £891,000, and they conlidcntly cxpcctcd that in a very few months it would reach £1,000,000. Sir 11. Acton Blake, in piesentinj; the report ol the Distribution Committee, said that during the past year grants wero allocated to fifty-two institutions. The total • sum distributed amounted to £6l,soo,'lint this included £450!) promised in 1919. Twenty-five thousand pounds had been received from the British Red Cross Society, and £12;()00 from' Sir James Allen, on behalf of the people of New Zealand, for the benefit of the dependants of men killed, and ' wounded in'the Battles of Jutland, Skageraek, and the North Sea. It was proposed to allocate £'-5000 of this sum immediately. , , In presenting the report of the Finance Committee, Sir William Corry said tho fund had increased since December 31st, 1919, by £162,000. of which £36,000 represented interest on investments, the remainder being.donations and annual subscriptions. The total invested capital was-£681",000, and the whole of these investments were in full trustee stocks.
