CLERGYMAN AND BOWLER. Th 6 Rev. T. J. Wallis, of Greymoiith, who has been appointed to the, Woolston ~ Methodist Church, was recently accorded a very enthusiastio "farewell by ] the Greymouth Bowling Club, of Much lie was. an enthusiastic and a valued member. In replying, Mr paid a tribute to the "white. sportsmanship" of his friends in, Greymoutli, his association with jvhoin, he said, marked the happiest dffrs of his life. .It iad always donO hinf good to go along to "the •green," .• and one of his, happiest memories would be his association with the" Bowlers bf Greymouth. His-" onljf regret : was .that he fiad never been able to wiri a trophy, but he had always been "up against some hot stuff on the green." Iri conclusion, .Mr Wallis asked all present to reinember that when he - was f iri: v Ohristchurch/ the Woolston parsonage would be "an open green," where a warm welcome would be extended to all, and he hoped the time would come when he would .take' a team of Christchurch bowlers to tiy conclusions with tbeir brethren on ,the Coast 1 .
