♦——. AUSTRALIAN TOUR FINANCE. (By Cable—Press Association—Copyright.) (Australian and -i.Z. Cable Association.) MELBOURNE, April 12. The quota from each State to finance the Australian Eleven's tour is as follows: New South Wales, Victoria, and South Australia, £I3OO each; Queensland, S130; Tasmania and West Australia, £IOO each. THE AUSTRALIAN TEAM'S TOUR. (FRESS ASSOCIATION TXLEOBAM.) AUCKLAND, April :2. I Edgar Waddy, a- member of the Australian cricket team which, recently toured New Zealand, writes with reference to views on New Zealand crickot by Percival Waddy, which were published in the Wellington papers and telegraphed by the Press Association. In many quarters plicae comments have been wrongly, attributed to the Australian visitor. Edgar Waddy says:—"l desire, to say that Percival R. Waddy" s views" as put foaltti an that letter on New Zealand cricket are not my views, nor are they the views of any member of the Australian team, and 1 should be very sorry to be a, party to «i<sh views. I desire that the statement that I am responsible for the letter in question should be contradicted as early as possible. I con only say this with reference to our trip through the Dominion: That we found that wherever we went, your people could noJ_ do enough for us, and notlting was too much trouble for them. I can only assume, then, that we, as- Australians, feel very grateful to them, and will always remember this tour as one of the most pleasing - experiences in our cricket career, and are grateful to them for all they have done for us."
