Mr John Caughley,, New Zealand Director of Education, states that education is more liberally provided for in New Zealand, than in Australia, hut ho was greatly impressed with the direct control of all educational in New South Wales, where the system was far moTe economical, in almost ©verjr section, fh.au New Zealand's. The salaries of the New Zealand teachers were somewhat higher than those of tho New South Wales teachers.
