Lord and Lady Jellicoe and suite arrived pi midday from Oreyniouth, visiting Kumara on route, where they visited the Old People's Home nndhad a hearty reception:' Heavy ruin this morning caused the outd<Jor welcome to be transferred to the Princess Theatre, which was overflowed with a most enthusiastic gathering, In which' children participated. A special address of welcome was presented to their Excellencies.' The reception was a most hearty one. Luncheon followed, tho speeches being very happy, and the gathering was a great success. Owing to the' inclement weather, the visit to tlie country district and *o Kanieri Lake this afternoon was cancelled. The Excellencies will be entertained nt a social gathering to-night by tho Returned Soldiers' Association.. 'They will visit Ross to-morrow, weather permitting, and will leave for Christchurch via Otira on Monday morning.
