At a conference of representatives of the seamen and the shipowners in connexion with the seamen's new log, the owners' offer of an increase of 10a a week was rejected. MOUNT LTJELL MINERS. (Received Aoril 9th, 12.50 a.m.) HOBART, April 8. The Mount Lyell miners declined the company's proposals, and advised the company to applv. to the Arbitration Court to secure the necessary relief. [A previous message said the Mount Lyell Company submitted a statement to the employees showing the cost of working and the price of copper, and suggested the. introduction of an 88hour fortnight and a reduction of wages of from 10 to 15 per cent.]
