W• f Ah eight-year-old girl named Berth* >■' Brackcnridgo was knocked down by • * motor-car on tho Lincoln road, near the Hospital, yesterday. She suffered « rather severe injuries in tho head, and an operation had to bo performed after < ner admission to the Hospital. (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM!.) IXVERCARGILL, April 8. At the inquest on James MeFarlan*, aged seventy-six, who was found drown' ed in tho Iliverton estuary, evidence was given that on Monday tho deceased visited Invcrcargill and deposited about £7OOO worth of securities with the Public Trustee, and also left a will, and gavo tho Trustee power of attorney to collect moneys due. He appe* r : ed quite- rational, discussed financial arrangements,, and made certain re-,' quests. He was last seen tho same night proceeding to his home at South ! Riverton. There were no suspicion* circumstances attending his death, and a verdict of found drowned was .returned. Deceased was a bachelor, witndut relatives in tho Dominion.
