ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Society for the Protection of Women and Children was held last evening,, the Rev. C. A. Fraer. presiding over a large attendance. ' In moving the adoption of the annual report, a sumuiary ot which has already been published, the chairman referred to the excellent? work bcinc done by the Society, and especially by its secreTary, Sister Edith Walton. The Society was not able to do much preventive work unfortunately—it was rather an ambulance corps which* administered relief to the socially wounded. ' ' The report was adopted.
