A young man named Robert Fox appeared at the Magistrate's Court to-day on a charge of having forged three totalisator tickets ut Trentham racecourse on January 24th. The clerk thought the ticket* were not genuine, and asked the man to wait while he consulted a superior officer. The tickets were pronounced to be forgeries, but when the clerk returned the mm- had. disappeared. Accused, who was subsequently arrested on tho Riccarton racecoutm, was identified by a man who stood behind him in the race when accused presented 'the allegedly forged tickets.
