SPORTS CLUB. v A practice matoh, • followed by a meeting, was held by the football section of tl© Lytteltou Sports Club on Saturday afternoon. It was decided to enter a te,am for the Canterbury -Rugby Union's junior competition. •••■ CHEAP PISH. The sale of fish' direct from.'the boats to the consumer, which a report on Saturday stated was an innovation in Duuedin, has been in operation in Lyttclton for eome months, commencing with one'boat and extending to three or four. Almost every clay, at noon ; and live o'clock, boatloads of h?h' are on »alo at the watermen's steps. During tho past few weeks the harbour has been lull 01 fish, and the. smaller boats, which go out as fhr as Port Levy and Pigeon Bay, bring in. a good catch everyday. The lish oro cleaned and tied up. in bundles, and \ arc< offered to the public at- prices which would make the city housewife envious. A largo groprr. weighing over 50lb, was sold for 10s.
