He is improving steadily, and looks a better horse than prior to the C.J.C. Autumn Meeting. Purple Spur dashed over four furlongs in good tirfl!*. Royal Stag, who was brought home by Gounteretroke. registered a. good gallop over seven furlongs. Mis* Mimic, who has lightened up a little, was also sprinted, and went very- boldly. Tigrrtiya waa given •«, working gallop. Kilrush, who was sent a mile, is fast coming back to form. A large number of horses are in work at New Brighton «t the present .time. R. . Pollock, A. G. Wilson,' G-. Anderson, J. N. Clarke, F. Thome, H, Frost/J. Messervey, J. Lorgolly, G. F. Robinson, L. Davidson, W. Warren, W. Bryce, tvnd M. B. Edwards •hove strong teams in work, and regularly exercise their charges at the seaside course. J. Lorgelly is a team of five— Asturio (who looks none the worse for his recent racing at Addington),*iyuann, Eley, Arran Lad, and Henry Tracey. Until recently Henry Tracey has been worked at the trottinij gait, but as the King Tracey pekling did not show to advantage, without the straps, he'has once more joined the pacing division, and will form, one of Lorgelly's team to raco at Timaru. Saint's Bell has doity well since being gelded, and of late is pleasing his ownertrainer, G. Anderson, in his work. The son of Logan Pointer and Ma Belle is engaged at Manawatu, and will go North early noxb week. Jt. Pollock's team lias recently been strengthened- by the inclusion of Colonut and the trotter Simple-Peter. Tho first-named looks big and is iu nice condition to start work. Other members of Pollock's team, in Letitia, Robert Dillon, Ben Wallace, and Pessimist,' are in nioo- condition, and only require a, few smart! workouts to fit them for racing. G. F. Robinson is devoting plenty of time to Rosßj Peters, Pleasant Mount, and White Lupin,'and the trio look to have done plenty of work. The fhsi-named two ore under orders for Tjoiara^H. Frost Has a fair sized team in commission, but the majority are only doing lifjht exercise. He has Sympathy and Olive Huon engaged %£ Timaru, and both mares are.'in pood, fettle. Reta P«ter has cteri* w«U since the Metropolitan Easter Meeting, and is striding along freely in her work.
