Acceptances for the "Wellington Racing Club's Autumn Meeting close at 9 o'clock this evening.
Nominations for the South Canterbury Jockey Club's Autumn Meeting close at 8 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hororata Racing Club has received a good list of nominations for its Annual Meeting to be held on Saturday, April 16th. There are ten in the Horoivta Cup, including Orange Mart, King Star. Greek Son, and Starlike, and in the short rae<\s some smart perfonners ar-- engaged, Pyjama and Algidus being among the number.
At the AYairarapa Racing Club's Autumn Mooting It. S. Bagbv, C Reed, and "W. Bell won thirteen of the sixteen races, Bagby scoring six wins, Reed four, and Bell three. Mr G. L. Stead has sold Right and Left to the Morrinsville sportsman Mr H. Manuel, and the son of Merry Moment has gone into J. Anderton's stable. * It is slated that Mr "W. Duncan refused an offer of 3000 guineas for Tdmatete after lie had iron the Great Northern Champagne Stakes. Vagabond is to be schooled over hurdles when the trades become softer, and the Auckland horseman \X. Ronnie lias been engaged to, ride him in his work and also in his races.

The Australian Jockey Club's Autumn Meeting will be brought to a conclusion, at Jiandvriek to-day. The A..T.C. Plate, run over three, miles, will, ho one-or ihc chief features of the day's programme? The Invercargill owner Mr "W. Stone was verv unlucky at Ellersiie (writes "Whalebone" in the "Auckland Star"). To start off, Silrer Peak was run into by a motor van, and was hardly nt her best, although she ran a good race in Ihe Huia Handicap. Then Eleus causzht cold, and could not start at all, while Kosedav was only seen under silk in the Mangeie Handicap on the concluding day, when he ran unplaced. It was certainly a poor reward for liis enterprise in sending his horses so far afield. So far this'season twenty of Absurd's stock have won 50 races between them, of the value of £17,0.50. twolvo two-year-olds having won tliirty rfces worth £11,425". ' '
Tho sum invested on the totalisator at. the thren meetings so far held at Ellerslie this season amounts to £874,230 10s, which is £119,981 in advance of the figures of the. eorrespondin<!; period last year. Foo Chow, the winner of the Great Autumn Handicap, was bought at auction as a. two-year-old by Mr J. S. Barrett for 300 guineas. Sarchedon. who was supposed to have a better chance of winning the last English Derby than Ills stable companion. Spion Kop, made his iuitial appcaranc.o as a hurdler at Gatwick in January.' It was a two miles maiden event, and Sarchedon, jumping indifferently, finished fifth in a iield of eight.

Acceptances for the Tiniaru T.C.'s 0 Annual Meeting close to-day. Acceptances for the Kaikoura, KTlesmex* County, tod tho Hukamii Annual Meetings, and -two trotting 1 events at.the Refeion J.C.'s Autuuui Meeting close on 1 Monday. Very little work is being done at .Aldington at tho present lime. All the. visiting trainers have left for their homes, while the local trainers aro' giving their charges an easy time. 'The time registered .by Greystone in the April Handicap was 4min 44sec, and not 4miu 42sec as previously recorded. Nabob lias changed. hands, and in vuture will bo trained by the Auckland mentor, H. McNaughton. .... . .., J. Measervey, jun., is taking service with, B. Jardeu. He can handle a pacer to advantage, in both saddle and harness, and will act as second reinsman at Irvington Lodge. Sir Fuilbam lias failed to stand a preparation and has been turned out foe a lengthy C'Rhodes is working a.'useful two-year-oM. pacer by Logan Ponfcer from Mayflower at Addington. The youngster has not long been in work, hut already shows considerable promise.. . Simple Peter will in future be framed by R. Pollock, of 'New Brighton. The ex-Southland-trained pacer Coldwater has gone into J. Bryce's stable. A. Freerth returns to Blenheim to-day with the trotter Baffin.
