THE STAGE'S APPEAL FOE EX-SEEVICE MEN.

"Warriors' Day" was.a big success, all the theatres being crowded. It is expected that.Lord Haig's fund will benefit to the extent of '£200,000. Over one thousand cinema performances will be given on Sunday. ( performances will, be given on.Sunday. The King and Queen attended tho performance 'at Windsor _Theatre. Tho Prince of Wales had a great reception at the London Hippodrome, as did other of the Royal Family elsewhere.
[The Prince of Wales yesterday attended a gathering unique in,tho history of the British stage, says tho "Mornino- Post," of January 19th. At Drury Lane Theatre his Royal. Highness assisted at the-inauguration of "Warriors' Day," which is to be observed on March 31st, when it is hoped that a matinee performance will be given in every theatre, yariety theatre, concert hall, and cinema in the country in aid of Earl Haig's fund for exHService men who may be in distress. The audience was composed exclusively of representatives of every branch of those associated with public entertainment, .and the" general public were not admitted. The great theatre was crowded, and among the more prominent members .or the theatrical profession present were: Mrs Kendall, Miss Ellen Terry, Sir John Hare, Sir J. Forbes-Robertson and Lady Forbes-Robertson, Lady Wyndham, Lady Alexander, Sir Squire Bancroft, Miss Irene Vanbrugh, Miss Lillah McCarthy, Miss Marie Lohr, Mr and Mrs Cyril Maude, Mr Matheson Lang, Miss Marie Blanche. Miss Elsie James, Mr J. Hackett, Mr and Mrs Oscar Asche, Mr and Mrs Ben Webster, Mr George Grossmith, and many others. Everyone who is known on tho stag® seemed to be present, and was cordially Cheered by fellow-artists. Sir Arthur Pinoro, -the chairman, came in with .the Prince of W T ales, Admiral of the lleet Earl Beattv, Field-Marshal Earl Haig, Air-Marshal Sir Hugh Trenchard, Admiral Sir Lionel Halsey-(who was m attendance on the Prim*),, and Mr Du Maurier, Mr Norman MeKinnel, Mr R. H. Gillesoie, Mr Mr F. R Goodwin, Sir Alfred Butt, Mr A. E. Newbould, M.P., Mr William Boosey, and others.] *
