" (1) The subject may be anything the competitor chooses: Man, woman, or child, Maori or European, still life or action, town or country, •> interiors or % exteriors, life, stock or wild life, 'landscape or seascape, farm life, hush life, town life, or sea life, wort or pley—whatever interests' thfe competitor enough to make Kim photograph it. The novelty, beauty, and interest for the public of the photograph will be the qualities' considered, in awarding the prises. ,(2) Every photograph Kent in must have been taken in New Zealand or its dependencies. (8) Photographs engrave best if made on mossy paper. However matt or jpossy is optional, but it is imperative that nil photographs be sent in flat packets: they need not be mounted.
