Lnsk is representing the New Zealand 'Cricket Council in the matter of the supervision of arrangements. The teams arc:

THE TEST MATCHES. (By Cable—rPi-oss Association—Copvriifht ) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) LONDON, March. 30. The: "Yorkshire Posit" says that to ijrovide th« English Test loam with trial matches of value would require two almost equal elevens, entailing. a double weakening of County strength. However interesting and important <t'ha'Test matches may be, Comriy cricket, is file backbone of the first-class game in Great Britain. Under previous arrangements, Australian visits greatly helped almost all the county cliU>s. ' If the Teat maltchas became a hindrance to county cricket, the popularity of Australian visits would assuredly diminish. The opportunity for the new team to play one preliminary match would jxis&ibly bo advantageous. MATCH ABANDONED. COLOMBO, .March 30, Owing to I'jhe hito arrival of the Oaterky the match of the Australian cricketers against Ceylon ■'ha.s been abandoned.
