The Cygnet, after making- two trips to Titirangi for steep for Pigeon Bay, arrived back yesterday afternoon. She is to tail for Kaiko'nra to-night. The Wakatu arrived here from Kaikouma. last evening witih o cargo of wool. At. present she 13 timed to eail to-wight (or Kaikmtra and "Wellington. Tha Baden-Powell arrived _ from Welding*ton yesterday afternoon, and is to mjl on the return trip -to-night. The auxiliary schooner Hiiia left Wellington yesterday "morning with a cargo of explosives for LytWton and Dunedin. Messrs Dulgety and Co., are the locai agents. The Canopus is to leave ihere at 5 p.m. Outlay with general cargo for Westport. The Wootton iH due here to-morrow with timber from Grey mouth. She 'will load 'for Wellington. An exceptionally heavy sea carried away an iron alleyway on the starboard side, oompletcly flooding tho adjacent cabins. 'When the Piako was about half-way across the Atlantic a wireless message was receive*! from the steamer Whakatane, also owned by the- same company, to the effect that tho had broken down and required assiatamoe. Tho Pinko put about and reached the disabled eteamer the following day. Her engineers rendered in effecWn® repairs, which occupied 38 hours. The Whakatano was then able to proceed on her voyage to Auckland, via Suva. Tho Piako arrived at Norfolk, Virginia, on February- 21st, and r.fter coaling left for Auckland, tho- remainder of the voyage being accomplished in fine -weather.
