METHODIST LOCAL PREACHERS' AID ASSOCIATION.
. 4 . The annua.l meeting of the Methodist Local Preachers' Aid Association was held in Christchurch on Good Friday. The opening services wore merged with a united prayer and Sacramental service in St. Paul's Presbyterian Church. Tho afternoon was_ taken up. with the business session, held in the Durham street Methodist Church parlour. Delegates front Dunedin, Wellington, Chrirtchurch, and Ashburton wero present. Tbe election of officers resulted as under:— President, Mr J. Jacobsou (Petone); vicepresident,' Mr C. Allington (Christchurch); i ceneral secretary, Mr T. Wakolin (Ashburton) ; treasurer, Mr J. -Toss (Marshland); comtnittee of -management, Messrs A. T. Molndoe G. W. Leadley, D. McClymont, Wilkinson, Turner, Eurrell, W. Hardin*, ,T. Dowland, Blaaey, G. W. Andrews, J. T. M. Priest, and J. P. Simon. A considerable amount of correspondence was received and dealt with. The 6«3sion closed with votes of thanks to tho trustees of the Durham street Church, for tho use of tho room, and to tho Christchurch brethren for entertainment and hospitality. At Ind East belt Methodist Church, in the evening, the refiring president, Mr J. Voss, •delivered a very interesting and instructive address to a representative gathering. Mr J. Seed occupied tho chair.
