FIRE BOARD.

Tho Clrristcliurcli Firo Board met last night. Present —Messrs 11. P. Hopkins (chairman), F. Burgoyce, A. Williams, H. Holland, j*J. R. Cameron, ani H. R Rtiabridg>e. The Beckenhiim Residents' Association applied for the installation of a firm aJiftm system in the district. The Superintendent reported that 22 calls v/ero received during tho month—7 false (5 malicious), 2 rubbish fires, i «ehim.rey iiies, o!i=> outside district call, and 8 actual fires ia tho city a-rea. The estimated total fire loss was £667, insurances on buildings and contents £2700, estimated values of pyoportias involved £1035.
