Canterbury College. j UNITE!) 3LUE. | The closing day for entries for handicap eve fit 3 for tho United Club's tournament has been extended until to-morrow. So far. very satisfactory entries have been, received, for tho men's events, but it is hoped that mora ladies will comnete. For tlioso competitors who ere unable to plav on TLureday afternoon, tho committee will endeavour t:> arrange matches for Thursday evening, ae long as these matches are jcommenced shortly after five o'clock. This cannot bo arranged, however, in any case where it would be necessary to hold up tho tournament. ASCOT CLUB. The Aecot Tennis Club opened its season last week-end, when a larsr-o number of members and visitors assembled. Considerable improvements have been effected on tho club premises during: the recess. The courts have all been top-dressed, and tho run backs lengthened, and a vast improvement for playing purposes has resulted. The pround3 and buildings have also received attention, and the club is now aa well equipped as any in the district. The oeening day's play took" the form of an informal tournament, which produced good tennis and good fun. At an interval in the afternoon tho Roll of Honour, containing tho names of members who went to the War, was unveiled, and henceforth will be permanently lodged in. the pavilion.
