A crowded house at Crystal Palace last night greatly enjoyed an excellent programme organised by Madame Gower Burns arid the Christchurch Lyrio Four, in aid of St. Saviour's Orphanage. About £30 will be i handed over for the orphanage funds. Valuable assistance was given by members of the . C.D.C. Bischlager; serenade, "Los Millions d'Arlcquin" ' (Drigo), Christchurch Salon OTchastia; solo, "Hear, Ye Israeli" (from Mendelssohn's "Elijah"), Madamo Gower Burns; vocal quartet, "Holy Night" (Beethoven), the Chriatcirarch Lyric Four; Marche Militarie, Op. 51, No. 1 (Schubert), Christchurch Salon Orchestra. Miss Aileen Warron ably acted os accompanists. "WELLINGTON WATERSIDE WORKERS' ! BAND. The Thfatre Royal was packed last night, when ihe Wellington Waterside Workers' Band, assisted by a concert party, javo an entertainment. Th 3 audience was with tho musical treat provided. The items given by Band were:—March, "Entry of Gladiators ; overture, "Light Comedy" (Lowe); eel«tion, "Maritana" (Wallace); march, "Joyce's 71st." Other features in *Jho programme well appreciated were the song, "May Morning," by Master Jack Wattera; the monologue, '"Trooper Campbell," by Mr Fra^er-Thomson; aria, "One Pine Day" (from "Mo-dame Butterfly"), by Miss Elsie Kell; duet, "Friendship," by Masters Jack and Cccil Waiters; and the song, "Angus McDonald," by Mr George St-en-house. Mr J. J. Drew conducted the Band, and Miss Gladys Watkins acted as accompaniste to the vocalists. CONCERT AT OPERA HOUSE. A eaored concert was given in the Opera House last night in aid of the Halswell C-stholic Church building fund. There was a good attendance, and the concert wes successful, and enjoyed T>y the audience, ail the performers being* recalled. Songs were contributed by Miss Olga Wacked, Miss Rogers, Miss Lola Hunt, and Miss A. Elliott (both of Fuller's), Mr Dave McGill, and a ifcit'itkm by Mr Frank MoDonald. Dalton's orchestra played 'no overture, and Miss Mina Ward acted as a-ocompaniste.
