1 MAGISTRATE'S COURT. At the Magistrate's Court, yesterday, before Messrs W. T. and W. C. Cleary, J.Pi'fl, Adolphus Hanson, charged with usingobscene language, was fined £2 and costs, REGATTA CLUB. A well-attended meeting ot tho Lftteltou Regatta. Club was held in tho Council Chambers last evening, the. Mayor (Mr W. T. presiding. It wn.s decided that & •programmo of swimming- sport? should be hold, and that the Lyttelton Sports Club sh<mld be asked to tak» charge. The. following' officers were elected:—Patron, tho Rt. Hon. W. F. Mrsspj'; commodore. Mr H. B. Sorensen; the Mayor of Lyttelton fMr W. T. Lester) and Mr J. McCombs, M.P. The next meeting of the club was fixed for November 18th, and it was decided to invito representatives of tho New Brighton Power Boat Clnb and the Christ church Sailing Club to attend.
