MEETING OF BOAKD OF GOVERNORS. A meeting of the Beard of Governors of the Christchurch Technical College was held last night, Mr C. H. Opie presiding. • The Agricultural Committee reported that Mr T D. Boag had beer, elected chairman for tho ensuing year. Arrangements had been made for manurial tests with sugar bee- and mangolds. '' ~ Tho Finance Committee reported tliat it had under consideration proposals for tho insurance 'of "buildings and plant, as llieir cost of replacement had risen considerably,, and tho insurance of all students against accident whilst attending- classes, for instrucU °The chairman, in his report, said tlmt unless the Minister of Education was prepared to grant a larger part of, the Te Oranga property for agricultural instruction than he had recently suggested, ho (the .chairman) would advise thp Board to press for a grant, for the pnrchaso of a suitable area.. Mr J. E. Franklin moved:—"That a scheme of advertising be undertaken at the beginning of next year so as to place before the public tho educational facilities that tho Technical College affords."- Tho motion was carried. It was decided that, the annual presentation of prizes for tho High School bo arranged for December loth in tho Choral Hall. The sum of £50 was voted for prizes. It is hoped to secure the attendance of tho Governor-General and Lady Jellicoe for tho occasion.
