"THE LOCAL BODIES LOANS ACT, 1913,' and "THE PUBLIC HEALTH ACT.. 1908." * IT is hereby publicly notified that the following Resolution was adopted at a Special Meeting of the Christchurch City Council, hold in tho City Council Chambers, situate iu Oxford terrace, Christchurch. at 9 o'clock p.m., on MONDAY, tho 11th day of October, 1920: — (a) THAT WHEREAS tho District Health Officer has, under the provisions of Section 69 of "The Public Health Act, 1908," recommended tho Christchurch City Council to carry out the undermentioned works, viz., Provide three clectric trnck6 and construct a Roadway into Reserves Numbered 1835 and 2365, in the Christchurch Survey District, for tho purpose ; of the collection, removal, and disposal of nightsoil from tho City of Christchurch .. £6000 Construct additional sanitary conveniences at the intersection of Cas hoi street . and High street—extra Cost. .. £1000 and tho Honourable the . Minister of Public Health has approved of the said • works, NOW THEREFORE the said Christchurch City Council dotji hereby, by Special Order, resolve to borrow by way of Special Loan a sum of SEVEN THOUSAND POUNDS (£7000) to be expended in carrying out tho abovei , mentioned works; tho said Loan, to bo . for a period of thirty-two (32) years, . bearing interest in the. meantime at a Tate not exceeding five and one-half per centum (5J per cent.) per annum. (b) Tho proposed security for the said proposed Loan is a Special Rate of One Forty-fourth (l-14th) of a penny in the pound upon the Rateable Value (being the Unimproved Value) of all rateable property comprised within the City of Christchurch. (o) The provision for repayment of (.he Loan is that the same shall be repayable by means of a sinking fund at the expiration of the aforesaid period of 32 years. (d) It is proposed to pay out of the Loan the coat of raising the' Loan and the preliminary expenses incurred in connexion with the ?cheme for which. the Loan is to be raised, but not the interest and sinking fund for the first yepr.
