MYSTERIOUS DISAPPEARANCE AND ITS SEQUEL.
> (PRESS ASSOCIATION* TELEGRAM.) HAWERA, November -J. In March, 1915, Harry Morris, a jeweller, of Hawera, mysteriously disappeared, and all trace of him was lost. He left Hawera for Wellington on business, and nothing further was beard of him, though enquiries were made in New Zealand and Australia. Mrs Ettie Morris, his wife, has now received news of his death on September 2'Jth, at the Caulfield Military Hospital. It appears that Morris enlisted in the A-I.F. in July, IUIS, and served through the war. Just before he died he made known his identity to the Jewish chaplain. Deceased had expressed a desire to serve in the war, and was most enthusiastic in the formation of the local defence corps. For some years he was a member of the Hawera Borough Council.
