e ¥he annual meeting of subscribers of tho Linv.-ood Public Library was held Inst night. The annual report recorded a very successful yeA's membership, both, as regarded increase in membership and tho large number of books which had "been added to the Library shelves. The number of subscribers now wa3 1460, and the number of books 7493. The liabilities amounted * to .£l3 19s Id, and tho assets to £972 ISs Od. The election of officers resulted:—Patron, "His Worship tie Mayor; president, Mr D. Richardson: vice-presidcnts, Crs. Williams, Herbert and Sullivan, Messrs A. Marshall, H. Burs on; trustees, Messrs Richardson and Tanner; treasurer, Mr A. Marshall; auditors, Messrs F. H. Fowler and E. S. Thomas; secretary. Mr W. Midgiey; committee. Messrs Burtrm, Bunker, Cox, Forrester. Fowler, Havley, Hargreaves, Harris, Main; thy, Thomas, and Midgiey.
