+ . ■ - CANTERBURY RUGBY UNION. The Management Committee of the Canterbury Rugby Union met last night, Mr S. F. "Wilson presiding. Hi a chairman reported that the Union ha\? power to remove the disqualification imposed upon S. F. Frame. Upon liis :xiotion the suspension was lifted. Ths North Canterbury Sub-Union was granted affiliation. TV; New Zealand Rugby Union notified that Mr H. Harris ■would be unable to act as on& of the selectors of the South Island team, and Mr D. Stuart (Otago) had been askod to act 'n his stead. It was reported that the following dates of representative fixtures hud. been suggested:— Canterbury tour—South Canterbury, August sth; Otago, August 7tii.; Southland, .August 11th. TY'iiirarapa tour—Canterbury, August 21st; South Canterbury, August GGth; Otago, August 28th; Southland, September Ist. "Wanganui tour—South Canterbury, September 2nd; Otago, September 4th; Southland, September Bth; Canterburv, September 11th. Wellington tour—South Canterbury, September Otij.; Otago, September 11th; "Southland, September 15th; Canterbury, September 18fli. The Canterbury dates were confirmed. Correspondence was received from sovunl clubs with regard to ' various unfinished matches played on Saturday, May 29th. Th© chairman considered that under the rules if on© side was willing l to .play, and the referee eaid tlie> ground was in «rder, that tho Bide willing to play rliould be granted a. win by default. He that tho Competitions Committee bo .instructed to secure reports from the referees. Mr G. Payne asked what was the position in regard to unfinished matches, which had Wen played again last Saturday. The chairman's suggestion ■was adopted. The chairman suggested that the Junior Grade Committee might ascertain what had gone wrong 1 with the junior competitions. Numbers of cadet teams were defaulting. It •was not fair that referees and teams should turn up Saturday after Saturday and not get a game. One referee had. informed him that during four Saturdays ho liad only Tetfereed in half a game.' Mr C. Buchanan said ha was surprised that the Competitions Committee had not reported anything. As matters etaod, the . Union would lose a lot of players. ; After further discussion tho chairman said if everything was at eixea and sevens tho Union would have to do something in the way of reorganisation. Mr Buchanan said the draw for tho whole year should be published at. once. The discussion then dropped, th® arrangement being that- the Competitions Committee . supply a. report on the matter. It was decided to write to the St. John Ambularice Association expressing appreciation of their services on the playing grounds, and to forward them a cheque for £5 5s as a donation. . Tho 'Varsity Club wrote stating that during the winter vacation at Canterbury College it was proposed that their B mid C teams in the President's Cup competition default, and the players who staged bo merged in their A team. There was ev-ery hope of their Senior und Junior Cup teams goinft at full strength. The chairman eaid the rules forbade members of t one team playing for mother team in the same competition after the third playing Saturday of tho season. After 6ome discussion the matter Ta» inferred to the Competitions Committee. The chairman said *lio Boyd' High School and Christ's Colleso teams desired to meet on "Wednesday, July 7th. In reply to a question tie chairman 6aid lie understood the venue was Lancaster Park.
