HURUNUI RABBIT TRUSTEES.
♦ A meeting of the Hurunui Rabbit Trustees was held at Culverden on Sattirday. Present—Messrs Thomae Chapman -'in the ciiairl. T. C. Robinson. G. O. Rutherford, and TV". W. Mcßae and Inspector Neville. Inspector Munro reported that a portion of the Boaxd's district south of the Hurunui river liad been inspected during the month, and that a good_ deal of poisoning had been •.lone on T>rop?rties along the Hurunui, 'with fair results. One property owner in the "U'.iifohi riverbed had been poisoning, but the trapping on this land tad been detrimental to the poisoning. The "Waitoili Peak® settlement land had been poisoned with pood results. On the "Waipara. river satisfactory work had been dono on the adjoining properties. j Inspector Xeville reported that during the month the CReviot, Rotberham, and Upper "VVaiau districts ha-l been inspected. Three owners had been written to in the Cheviot district in reference to the bad state of their properties. Good work had been done in the Rotherham dirt riot, with the exception of one owner, who iad not carried out institutions. In the Upper "Waiau district the rabbits wero very numerous, especially at the top end, and some drastic-steps would have to W taken to poison tho country. The rate for the yeax was fixed at id per i head on sheep and Sid per head on cattle.
