The first mutch shot by tho Kakaia Miniature Rifle Club was against the Chertsey Club, Tho match was tired on tie BaJtaia range, and resulted in a win for the home team by 633 points to 62}. The same evening the Rakaia Club "Hotty Button," for the best 6core during the evening-, was awarded for tho first time. The winner wes Mr H. Cromie, who nut on 70, and so won at the same time Mr J. Nowtofi's special prize of one guinea for the first member to put on the possible. A trophy competition was won by Mr C. C. Holmes, with Mr J. Pye as runner-up. On Saturday evening- t> meeting of the committee was held, Mr A. A. Oliver presiding- over a good attendance. Hearty votes of thanks were passed for donations of special prizes to Mr W. Gibson, Beath and Co., .f. BallantjT-e and Co., and "\V. Strange and Co. It was decided that, owing to the large membership, and tho consequent congestion at tho range, it waa desirable to provide more accommodation, and Messrs A. Shannon and W. J. Leo were appointed to look into the matter. A suggestion was made that inter-club matches might bs fired between several clubs, o.ich on. its home ransre. It was resolved to present aJI the trophies won durincr tho season at n social function later on. It was agreed to have a trophy competition .every fortnight, with a sweepstake in tho intervening weeks. The winner of Mr G. Cromie's championship trophy is to be the marksman securing the highest aggregate score in any five of tho nest eight trophy competitions.
