Arrangements have been mntta !or special trains to Ashburton on Thursdav for the Ashburton Trotting Club s Winter Meeting. A train wilj leave Christchurch at 0.10 a.m:, taking passengers from Christchurch and Rakaia, and another at a.m.. taking passengers from Christchurch and Dunsandel. AMBEELEY RACING CLUB. At the annual meeting of the Ambcrloy Racing Club Mr G. E. -Starky presided over an attendance of twenty-five members. It was reported that the club's recent race' meeting showed a credit baiance of £408 6s 9d. A resolution, brought forward by Mr A. R. Turnbull, that in connexion with the election of oiScers a printed form be cent to each ineml>er, and that the election of • such officers bo made seven days before date of annual meeting, was carried. , Mr G. L, Stead forwarded his resignation as a member of tho club. It was decided that tho resignation, be accepted with regret, and that Mr Stead bo thanked for his pact 6e*vices. A resolution from the Dunedin Jockey Club that seven stone bj made the minimum weight in all handicap events found favour, and it was decided to support the resolution.
