GREAT BRITAIN'S POLICY. (By Cable—Press Association-—Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Cablo Association.) DELHI, June o. The Civil Commissioner in Mesopotamia, replying to a deputation at Bagdad, regarding the policy of Great Jintain in Mesopatamia, said the disturbed condition on the borders of Persia and Turkey prevented the establishment of civil government, but those encouraging disorder would soon be taught a severe lesson. The military authorities were determined to maintain order at any cost. Mesopotamia had been under alien government for 400 years. It was impossible to establish" a National ment immediately. Great Britain intended to form a National Council of State nnder an Arab president, who would hold office until a constitution had been determined. Great Britain, under no circumstances, would withdraw from the country until she had sitisfied the League of Nations that Mesopotamia was fit to stand alone.
