After a spell of another fortnight, tho Canterbury Hockey Association competitions wero resumed on Saturday last. Tho weather was fine, but the grounds 6low and heavy on account of tho soaking rain tho previous ■week. Following are tho results:

. SENIOR GRADE. SEIAYYN (1) v. CRANFORD (0). The mat-ch. set down for Lancaster Park ■was productive of good, fast hockey between evenly matched teams. Selwyn showed the slightly better combination in the_ fonvard line, but otherwise there jras littlo to choose between ■ the contesting teams. Tho opening stages of tho gamo were even, and neither eido could claim any material advantage. Half-time blew with no score. Sehvyn opened tho attack in the, second =pell. Cranford took a spell of attaching, ma for » few minutes the Selwyn backs were bard pressed. Tho Blues (Cranford) made s.'-vcral combined efforts, but were unablo to add the flushing touches to their play, i Selwyn continued an attack, and a centre by S. Bell gave IT, Bell an opportunity to I scud in a shot which opened tho score. Crsniord put in a determined effort and tho Sslwyn backs were hard pressed, but cleared, slid tho Cranford circle was again reached, where H. Bell had an unsuccessful shot, :ind play returned to mid-field, when the whistle blow, with the score: Selwyn 1, Crawford 0. Messrs E. Ballinger and C. Bel- ] lumy were referees.

An interesting and even gamo was provided at Hagley Parle, and for tho firet quarter of an hour there was no advantage gained by cither team* Tho Y.M.C.A. forwards showed the l better combination, and put in some promising ruehes in which Hale, Siseon, and Werren were prominent. Tho Technical backa piit up a sound defence, until Halo ibtained possession in the circle, and opened. Jho scoring account for Y.M.C.A. The Technical forwards made an effort to equalise, jnt C.- "Werren andVelvin put in some ueej.n> work, and tho Y.M.C.A. team were attacking when half-time was called. On resuming Y.11.C.A. set up a vigorous attack, iut wero unable to reach tho net, and' play was again returned to the Technical circle, v.'hcn Sis so n eent in a stinging shot, which l*at tho Technical goalie. Tho Y.M.C.A. kept un tho attack till time blew, but no further score resulted. Mr H. Mogridgo was referee.

SYDENHAM (1) v. ADDINGTON (0). Addington. opened the attack, but found Ibo Blue backs safe, end tho Sydenham forwards transferred play to their* opponents' twenty-five, offside spoiling their . chances of scoring. Mid-field play followed till tho Adding ton forwards made a determined attack, but could not score. Sydenham startid the second epell with several smart attacks* but could not pae3 the opposing backs, until Shßxrifis took the ball and passed to Throp, enabling tha latter to open tho score ior Sydenham. Addington put more vigour inta their work "Sifter this, and made eevor:ii promising attacks, but failed to equalise, Sydenham keeping them out of the circle by hard hitting. Some very fast, open play followed till time was called. Referee, Mr H. Hatch.

SECOND GRADE. Solwyn A' defeated Selwyn B by 11 goals

(scored by Squire 3, Bycrs, Richmond, and Down 2, and A. Bell and J. M. 801 l 1 each) to 3 (scored by Joseph, Hore, end O'Donnell). Referee, Mr A. George. Y.M.C.A. defeated ChTistcliureh by 7 goal 3 (scorod by Tahrell 3, Fildee, Holland, Hill, and Jones) to 1 (scored by Mather). Referee, Mr C. Whvte. Selwyn defeated Senior Cadets by G goals (acored by Hoaken and Hore 2, Richmond, | and McCaffey 1 each) to nil. Referee, Mr | C. Dallison. ' Technioal A defeated Sydenham by 2 goals, (scored by Barwick and Steere) to nil. Referee, Mr E. G. Jones. Technical B defeated Y.M.C.A. B by 9 goals (scorod by Teague 5, Calvert 3, and Turner 1) to nil. Referee, Mr C. Bishop. Oxford Terrace defeated Cranford by 2 goals (scored by Hanna) to 1 (scored by Small). THIRD GRACE. Technical defeated Sydenham by 3 goals (scored by Matthews 2, Boyce 1) to 1 (scored .by French). Referee, .Mr Mann. Cranford 1 (scored by Carey) drew with Oxford Terrace X (scorcd by Drayton).
