VARIOUS RESOLUTIONS.

DTJNEDIN, Juno 5. Tho Farmers' Union Conference resolved to protest against military training camps extending over a period of moro than three or four months; that tho Government bo urged to take steps to prevent meat trusts monopolising the export trade of the Dominion; thiat tho Minister of Justice bo. written to protesting against undesirables being sent into the country by city magistrates; that the Government bo asked, in fixing tho price of wheat, to deal with the matter not later than November in- each year, so as to allow farmers to prepare for growing crops; that tho conference considers that the time has arrived for a shipping line to be owned by the producers and the Government; that the levy on local bodies for the purpose of raising necessary funds foxhospital and charitable aid purposes unduly taxes the holders of rural properties, and that tho Government be asked to alter the law so as to raise the money on a more equitable basis. vlt was decided to support the resolution passed at the IVJeat and Wool Conference asking the Government to appoint a highly-qualified man in New •Zealand and one in England to look after tho disposal of Dominion produce, also the meeting further expressed the opinion that the appointments should bo detachcd from tho High Commissioner's OSice.
