Linwood, on Wednesday evening. Brother R. J. Hosking, P.S.J.T., attended, and (raw a brief address. Brother G. E. Bielby, jun , on behalf of the Tent, presented Brother J. Pattison witi a framed P.C.Tt. certificate. Brother E- Leaver presented tho Gold Medal awarded by tho N.Z. Central District for the introduction of most members during the period 1915-1920, t»> Brother J. Pattison. Two candidates wero initiated. SYDENHAM SCHOOL COMMITTEE. The monthly meeting' of the Sydenham School Committer was he'd on Wednesday. Present—Messrs E. L. McKoon (chairman), "W". H. Lux ton, G. P. Taylor, W. Newman, H. H. McCaw, T. H. Butte rfield, and B. «T. Duncan. Owing to the bad state cf tho school grounds, it was decided to as>k tho Education Board for screenings to fill_ irn fie vera 1 large liollows. It was also decided to ask tho Board to eupply a new bell for tho school, tho present on© being uselesu. The unsafo state of tho belfry was again mentioned, and it was decided to brint* tlv« matter under the r.ottce of the Board. A motion asking tho Board to supulv a lowfen oo in place of tho present border in Quoon ' street was lost. The chairman. Messrs Luxton and McCaw -were appointed a. visiting' oommitteo for tho ensuing month.
