PEACE TREATY.

GERMAN EVASION OF TERMS.

Imperial Service— Association

(Received March 20th, 11.33 p.m.) PAIIIS. Ma rh 29.

It is reported that 3500 field-guns wero founri by tlie Al.ied Commission in the vicinitv of Berlin. Altogether, 12, GO J guns and GXJ aeroplanes, intact, have been discoveret; throughout Germany, whereas, under the terms of the Peace Treaty Gerv any should net have more than 201 3-incli guns and no aeroplanes. These discoveries, coupled -with information in the posse?sion of the French authorities, have aroused scepticism con:eming Germany's intentions inFrench circles, where it is pointed out that Germany hitherto has failed to take any step 3 to reduce her army to 200,000 within the time limits which expires in a fortr.irrht, while little has been done in fulfilment of 33 other clauses of the Treaty, the time limit- for which has already expired. French opinion is that Germany's object is to gain time, hoping eventually to evade her obligations wholly, or, at any rate, partially.

The speech •was cheered hy many sections of the House, hut the Paris correspondent of the "Morning Post" doolares that M. Barthou, hy his antiBritish violence, committed political suicide.
