The issue of warrants in connexion with tho wheat enquiry findings, has been followed by the arrest of five men, Rheuben, Brunton, Sheedy, Churchill, aud Coombes, on chargcs of conspiracy to defraud the State of divers largo sums in connexion with the State "Wheat Office transactions. Accused havo been remanded on heavy bail. (Received January 27th, 12.35 a.m.) SYDNEY, Januaiy 26. Two more men, named Smith and Robinson, wero arrested, and remanded on heavy bail, on charges of conspiracy to defraud ;n connexion with, the "Wheat Enquiry Finding. DARING ROBBERIES. SYDNEY, January 26. A number of daring _ and extensive robberies have occurred in the city during tho last few days. Jewels v.'ilued at £4000, the property of Mrs Stewart Dawson, mysteriously
disappeared from a room in an hotel. The latest report is that Melick s 81 Ik warehouso has been ransacked, and goods to the value of £1000 to £2000
