The boats were th« Cock o\ the Walk, & deep" sea trawler owned by Mr J. Huff, which ran second in tho trawler rate on Xetv Year's Day, and the Firefly, a pleasure. cruiser, owned by Mt Chaa. Johnston. which was an un«ucc«ttful competitor in the race for boats over aiz knot* at the Regatta. Tho coumo wjm tho luimc m for tho Itag&tta jao<*>. eleven knot*. At the start from tho moles tho Cock o' the Walk gradually drew away, and at tho boncon had established a lead of fifteen lengths. Before tho first icnind was completed th« Firefly'* engine started to pvo trouble, and finally etonped over bv Diamond Harbour. Tho Cock o' the ttVlk made a nonstop run, and won in 1 hour 1" minutes. The Trinity Tennis Club held a Combined Double* Tournament on Saturday, for pri»s given by the club captain. Mr T. Wales. Some interesting games remitted, and in tho semi-final Mies Harbour and Chamber* (reo. 6) defeated Mis« Pan and T. YTal** (rec. 5). In tho final Barbour and Chamber* were a.rain »nmr««ful. defeating Miss A. Fraser and K. Toomey. Afternoon tea was provided by Mrs Hill and Mils Pago. Tho now clay court i» in a forward condition. and the club propose to hold a baza*; in the near future, to raiso funds towards its completion.
