The Hon. E. W. Parker, chairman of Dalgetv and Co., speaking at the recent meeting of the company in London, reminded shareholders that there was a very strong movement going on in Australia now for increasing salaries. It had begun with bank clerks, and a strong movement was going on to get a higher scale of salaries. That was a question which had to be faced, and the general manager and himself, when in Australia, -would havo the opportunity of facing it and doing the best they could. Expenses would not be increased more than necessary. The Board always kept a severe check on the expenses of the colonial officers when they camo hoire for review in London. The figures were very carefully scrutinised, and the Board would continue to act on the same lines.
